Leeds coppice workers have been busy cutting some really nice mixed coppice in these woods. The material is the right age so we have been getting lots of bean poles, hedging stakes and hurdle rods out. Its a beautiful place and because the coppice is in its 2nd cycle of management the ground fauna is going to be amazing come spring. We are going to be doing allot of layering of the hazel and elm, hoping to at least triple the stool density and make it one of Yorkshires finest coppices!
