We don’t fell trees for the sake of it. We fell larger trees to maintain biodiversity and restore coppice habitats. Purchasing our firewood supports our work looking after your local woodlands.
We can guarantee that our firewood comes from sustainable sources, from small woodland management operations that has a beneficial impact on the biodiversity on the woodlands we manage.
Our firewood is air dried to sufficient levels of moisture for 2 years before it is sold, which reduces the carbon foot pint (as apposed to kiln dried) and keeps the cost down for our customers.
This year we have a good mixture of two year seasoned hardwoods with good amounts of Hazel, Ash, Birch and Sycamore to get your fire roaring. All bags are mixed species and logs are cut at approximately 26cm and split where possible. Due to the nature of coppiced woodlands, log diameters vary.
Firewood is sold in bulk bags that measure 0.85 x 0.85 x 0.85 Meters. We aim to deliver firewood loose (as we reuse the bags) and as close to your preferred drop off that our truck will allow. We charge £15 (per bag) for moving firewood more than 5 meters by hand and another £15 (per bag) for stacking if desired.
