Applications are now open for Royal Society of Forestry’s Forestry Roots Traineeship. Open to 18-30 year olds. And the great news is Leeds Coppice Workers will be hosting one Forestry Roots Trainee.

We've got one more big fence job to get on with and hopefully we'll have some material left over for a hurdle or two.

We had a great time at the National Coppice Federa

We had a great time at the National Coppice Federation AGM over in Silverdale. 6 of our members, one volunteer and some family including 3 month old Ada came along for craft demonstrations and workshops, discussions on coppicing businesses and the AGM. Thanks to CANWA for hosting the event. It was lovely to connect with others in our small industry and share time (and delicious food) together.

Leeds Coppice Workers are looking for someone passionate about sustainable, low impact woodland management, to join our team. The role will involve assisting with all the practical aspects of coppice management, firewood and charcoal production as well as working with volunteers, hedgelaying and coppice crafts. We are open to recruiting someone as a member of the co-op on a permanent basis or as a temporary worker for the coming coppice season (Oct – Apr).
