Come and volunteer with us at beautiful woodland around Leeds. Learn how we manage coppice woodland, be active, be part of a team and enjoy being outside 🙂
We’ll be hosting volunteer days at Nutwood, Middleton, Hetchel Woods, Castle Hills, Town Close and Bramham. We’ll update venues as soon as we know.
If you’d like to come along please email us and let us know so we can gauge numbers. You’ll need to bring work clothes, work shoes, water proofs, warm layers, work gloves, lunch and drink. We’ll supply hot drinks and snacks.
Our volunteer days can encompass a wide range of activities required as part of coppicing, from laying hazel, installing fencing, producing fascines, and shifting firewood. People will undertake a mix of activities throughout the day, it is generally a physical and lovely day out in the woods.
Monday 17th of March – Hetchell Woods, Scarcroft
Thursday 10th of April – Castle Hills, Micklefield
Hope to see you soon!
Further opportunities
In the past we have often had volunteers that go from attending our advertised volunteer days to volunteering more regularly to then being paid to do work as a casual worker or as a co-op member. Whilst we cannot guarantee that more time volunteering will lead to paid work we wanted to make it clear that this is a possibility.
